Leisure Tea Room with Gray and White Spliced Movable Partition Wall
How can a limited space be transformed into a leisure tea room and office area? Today, Daitachi will take you behind the scenes of this project to see how it was achieved.
When Mr. Li, the manager of a Beijing company, approached us, he expressed his desire to utilize this vacant lot. "We want to divide this land into a leisure tea room and a reception area. We'll have a place to greet guests when they come to the office, and employees can also relax here during their breaks." Our design team immediately visited the actual site, obtained site drawings, and developed a preliminary design.
Based on the company's needs, we divided the space into two areas: inside and outside. The inside area, furnished with a long table and chairs, can serve as a conference room for meetings and a reception room for clients. The outside area is an open space where both employees and clients can relax and unwind. Mr. Li expressed great satisfaction with our design, and after refining some details, we immediately began construction.
The gray and white spliced paneling was chosen primarily to balance the interior's Chinese-style decor and complement the existing gray carpet. The overall interior style is harmonious, and even the retrofitted wall system blends seamlessly into the space, adding a vibrant atmosphere.
In this design, we employed a floor-track-free design. Using only ceiling tracks ensures that the panels can be stored without disrupting the spatial integrity and eliminates the risk of people tripping over the tracks. Mr. Li expressed great satisfaction with this design, considering the high level of daily use of the wall system.
"To prevent the contents of meetings from being leaked, we needed highly soundproof panels," Mr. Li said, noting that sound and heat insulation were also required. We placed multiple layers of soundproofing materials, such as soundproofing foam, soundproofing fiber, and rock wool, within the panels. The resulting soundproofing achieved 54 decibels, ensuring that even everyday conversations are not disturbed by external noise.
The project was successfully completed, and Mr. Li expressed his deep satisfaction with the project. It not only perfectly solved the problem of unused space but also divided the space into different functional areas, maximizing every square meter.
