How Operable Partition Walls Work

Operable partition walls are flexible partitions that allow you to divide large areas into smaller rooms or open them up when needed. Panels are supported by an overhead sturdy aluminum alloy track system that guides their movement. The panels slide along the track and are either connected to the wall or stacked aside to open up the space.

They consist of top-supported, manually operated panels that can be linked together to form a sound-retardant closure. An operable wall needs a method of acoustically opening and closing the system. Interlocking panel edges mean that a gap needs to be created along the track to break and stack the panels.

Seals are used at the top and bottom to ensure an acoustic fit with the overhead track and the floor. The End panel features an side over-sleeve that can be expanded sideways to lock the wall in place.

Operable Partition Walls System Options & Configurations

All systems are available in Centre Stack, Side Stack, or Remote Stack configurations. Daitachi operable partitions are suspended from ceiling tracks and made up of interlocking panels that look like permanent walls. A wide variety of finishes are available to match interior decor. Accessories such as pass doors, writable boards, vision panels, and locks offer even more flexibility.
